Mercedes Maidana | Certified Personal Trainer

Born in Buenos Aires, I fell in love with surfing at 21 and chased waves across the world – from Argentina to Hawaii, where I became a professional big wave surfer and ambassador for the clothing company Patagonia for seven years. At 26, I was nominated as one of the three top female big wave surfers in the world at the billabong XXL Awards, also known as the Oscars of Surfing. In 2014 I suffered a career ending and life-changing brain injury surfing 35 ft. waves. I rebuilt my brain, body and spirit – learning the true meaning of resilience and strength. I still compete in state-level surfing and I train several times a week. I channel the same grit into helping others build powerful, healthy bodies and unshakeable confidence.
