From a very young age tennis has been a part of my life. It all started at my birth place in Puerto Rico at the Rockefeller Resort Cerromar Beach Hotel and CC in 1978. I quickly came up on the junior tennis ranks in the Caribbean, reaching the top 5 ranking in the islands from 1979-1983. In 1984 my family moved to Austin where I played at Anderson H.S. and earned the #1 position and ranked #45 in Texas for Junior Tennis. After high school I accepted a full tennis scholarship to Temple College under the direction of All American Coach, Dick King. While there I reached the Rolex Top 50 National Ranking with a best of #25 in Singles and #10 in Doubles. I am also a two-time Collagen Conference Champion and National Qualifier. After college I started competing in the Men’s Open Championship Division throughout the US and abroad. During this time is when I discovered my passion of teaching and event programming. For over the 20 years I have gained top-level experience teaching all levels of players, managing events and tournaments. I have been married to my wife Vonda for over 24 years and father to two boys, Cristofer and Austin. As the CCAC Director of Tennis, I look forward to growing our tennis program and giving all members 5-star service in a fun family environment.

I started playing tennis in school at the age of 14, continuing on to varsity at Carroll High School, Tennis on Campus at the University of Texas at Austin, and finally transitioning to competitive NTRP USTA Adult leagues and Tournaments. Going on 10 years now I have enjoyed teaching tennis to all ages from the HEB Tennis Center, Longhorn Tennis Camp, Aggie Tennis Camp, Courtyard Tennis Club in Austin, National Junior Tennis League in Austin, to abroad at the Country Club Huancas in Peru. Tennis has allowed me to travel around the country meeting people, playing in tournaments, as well as around the world with the opportunity to volunteer and give back through the sport. Whether you have never picked up a racquet before and itching to try a new sport or just looking to fine tune your game to get ahead in you next local league or tournament, I enjoy taking juniors and adults alike, listening to their personal goals and working together to achieve them, whether it be competitive, socially, or just as a means of fitness goals. Hope to see you court soon.

I started playing tennis at the age 8 years old and played competitively for 10 years. I’ve also been assisting the Club’s Junior Tennis Program for 4 years with ages ranging from 4-11 years old. I love teaching juniors the basics and how fun tennis can be.

Tennis Junior Staff Professional

I have been playing tennis for most of my life. My love for the sport came when I was really young; the game was an all-around lesson about life. After playing all through high-school I decided I did not want to give up this part of my life. Tennis led me to Hardin-Simmons University which was one of the biggest blessings I have encountered. I was a starter all four years and was opened up to many new teaching styles and players. I enjoy coaching young kids all the way up to high-schoolers who want to learn what it takes to play college. My goal as a coach at the athletic club is to spread the love of the game to others.
